One of the most challenging things after a major injury can be returning to activity or the workplace. One of the tools we use to help you return to your job can be a graduated form of exercise and exposure, to allow you a safe and effective return to work. Education about how to integrate back into the workplace with supervisors and colleagues can avoid much of the stress that can be a barrier to recovery. In addition to your formal physiotherapy care we can initiate a work conditioning program of full body strengthening exercises specific to your job, task simulation activities to allow you to gradually build up to what you do and aerobic exercise to ensure you have the endurance and energy to complete your workday. Graduate return to work plans with stepwise increase in hours and exposure to more challenging duties, can also aid this process.
We are an approved Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB) provider so you can receive care if you are injured at work. If you were injured on the job, make sure you let your employer know and start a WCB claim.
We have a variety of ways to help recover from an injury at work. One of the things we use to assist someone with returning to the job is a work conditioning program. This involves an exercise program of whole body strengthening, aerobic exercise, and simulated activities to ensure you were able to complete your more demanding tasks at work.
In conjunction with a graduated return-to-work program this can allow you to safety return to your job without re-injury.
